Cookie stuffing is the process where a cookie is 'stuffed' onto a user's computer. This cookie is a tracking method used to track affiliates and their traffic sources. Usually, when you are promoting an affiliate program, you are given an affiliate link. When a user clicks on this affiliate link, they are given a cookie as a tracking method to credit you with the transaction or sale.

What's so good about cookie stuffing? Why should I care about what cookie stuffing? Cookie stuffing is the ultimate method in which you get paid from your affiliate programs. Let's say you are promoting 'Clickbank' products. You only get sales when the user has purchased a product through your affiliate link. When a user clicks on your affiliate link, they are given a cookie with your affiliate id.

Let's say that most internet users are savvy when it comes to affiliate links. They don't want to go through your affiliate link, so they type in the actual sales page and purchase something. In this instance, you are losing your sales because they aren't getting your affiliate cookie.

So they visit your promotion page such as a blog that you wrote about a Clickbank product, and they decide not to go to your affiliate link. Instead, they type in the sales page url on their browser to visit the Clickbank product's sales page.

What Is Blackhat Mean..?

Blackhat marketing is an unethical form of marketing in which the ‘blackhatter’ will manipulate either affiliate networks, and/or search engines.

Blackhatters are the core of internet marketing success. Not everyone will tell you that they do blackhat methods, but in reality they do. In order to achieve success online, blackhat methods need to be implemented in order to succeed.

Let’s face it it’s a dog eat dog world out there. Everyone is competing with everyone else on the internet in order to succeed. If it were that easy, everyone would be making money online. What is the difference between blackhat and whitehat? Blackhat is unethical ways of getting higher rankings on the search engines, or basically just unethical methods of making money on the internet.
Whitehat internet marketing is the process of doing legit marketing on the search engines, and ranking through various sources which we will discuss later on in this chapter.

In order for a blackhatter to succeed on the internet, they need to know the core basics of whitehat internet marketing. Without knowing the whitehat basics of internet marketing, one cannot call himself a blackhatter. A blackhatter is someone who knows the ins and outs, or just the very basics of an affiliate or an entity and will manipulate it in order to make the most income from it.
